In 1979 it was the favourite shoe of professional handball players. Now it's a hit with street style fans. Its iconic design includes a suede upper and a gum rubber sole that adds a retro touch. The adidas Handball Spezial was launched specifically for handball in 1979. It was worn at the World Handball Championship in Germany in the late 1970s. A velvety upper was used for the adidas Handball Spezial, with extra padding throughout the shoe for comfort and durability. The sole features a four-zone construction for the sharp turns the sport requires. The adidas Handball Spezial was produced in white/red, white/black and white/blue in 1982.
